In the first step of the Admit World ACE process, we start with a Business School Application Assessment and MBA Goals Evaluation session to develop a comprehensive profile evaluation from a three-point perspective: academic, professional and personal. We combine an extensive questionnaire with a personalized consultation to assess your candidacy as an MBA applicant with the objective of identifying strengths to highlight and weaknesses to mitigate across your MBA applications. We include a Transcript Review and GMAT Consultation to assess if any remedial steps need to be taken to overcome a low undergraduate GPA or GMAT score, and help you with the choices and options available to you to strengthen your academic profile.

Next, we assess your professional and life goals to help you define a career path for MBA internships and after business school. In the main step of the Admit World ACE process, we develop an overview of your MBA candidacy, with a focus on selecting your most powerful academic, personal and professional experiences to be included in a business school application. We expand the selection process to include qualitative and quantitative skills such as communication and analysis, as well as personal attributes including leadership, teamwork and community involvement.

We create the overview on the basis of a 1- or 2-page summary consisting of rough drafts or bullet lists of answers to potential MBA admissions essay questions. This framework allows us to identify the strengths to emphasize as well as weaknesses to mitigate, and decide on how to position these for each business school application to create maximum impact in a limited space. We then link the selected experiences, skills and attributes to your post-MBA career goals and create your own personal “story”. This forms the base of all your MBA application components, including your essays, resume, letters, forms and interview.

With the overview in place, we move to the largest part of the MBA application – the business school admissions essays.

We tackle MBA essay editing through detailed feedback delivered through email, phone or in-person consultations. Through each round of admissions essay editing, we review for fit and relevant to the essay question, consistency of both content and grammar, and appropriateness of the language, tone and style. Round 1:

Our first essay review assesses if the answer is suited to the question. On the basis of our MBA application overview, we judge if clients are using their strongest examples and if not, recommend and brainstorm on others that could be a better fit. Round 3 and beyond:

As the business school application essay reviews progress, our focus moves from high-level to minute detail. At this point, our comments being increasingly specific to address word usage, sentence length, punctuation, and grammar. The end result is an MBA application essay that has a compelling story, smooth flow and clean, easy-to-read language.

Resume Review

MBA application resumes differ from vocational resumes since they include all the achievements of an individual, versus just her professional credentials. This shifts the focus from a summary of just work accomplishments to a document that demonstrates your achievements across all three arenas that business school admissions committees care about: those of work, school and community.

Round 1:

This includes high-level but still extensive feedback on describing your accomplishments across the work, school and community domains. Our comments include advice on tailoring your resume bullets for greater relevance to an MBA admissions reader, emphasizing experiences and accomplishments that demonstrate both quantitative and soft skills and showing career progression and academic achievements that underscore your potential to succeed in a business school environment.

Round 2 and beyond:

This includes more detailed comments on creating a consistent format and using appropriate descriptions and action verbs to describe your work history, academic credentials and extracurricular activities. In this round, we also verify that your resume includes and highlights all the accomplishments that were selected in the business school application overview to supplement the strength of your candidacy.
